Drawing with me this Saturday (and why I think you'd enjoy it)
Let's hang out.
I don’t usually cross the streams between my essays and my teaching, but this Saturday I’m teaching a live workshop that feels connected to things I write about a lot—finding new ways to see, breaking out of defaults, giving yourself permission to try stretch and have fun.
Paint & Pen — Pen & Paint. Three hours exploring how ink and watercolor can work together. We’ll make four finished pieces, each one using a different sequence of line and color.
I built this thinking about the kind of people who read my work—people who want to expand how they think and create, not just learn techniques.
And I love doing this. Spending Saturday morning making art with other people is just a good way to spend time. That focused, slightly giddy creative energy you get from working alongside others—there’s real value in that.
I’ll be teaching live, drawing in real time, answering questions as we go. If you can’t make it live, you’ll have lifetime access to the recording and can work through it whenever suits you.
