I received my copy of your book yesterday, Danny. Once my semester ends, I will curl up with a cup of tea (milk, no sugar) and savor each essay. Good day to you, Sir! 😀
The birds where I live seem to hide. We can hear the quarrelsome commentary in the trees. When it goes silent it's a given that a local bald eagle or hawk is hanging about. At night, the silence that can only be found under tall trees is occasionally broken by a screech and high pitched scream. I will reach for my cat and find myself contemplating the circle of life. Do I see myself in the squirrel that was grabbed from my roof, or the silent night specter of an owl that remains unseen? I will always appreciate the silence found under tall trees.
Thank you, but it wouldn't happen without the foil of your essays. Those works get me thinking and sometimes it writes ok out of my head. So thank you very much for having thought provoking content. It is real - real means something.
I've been reading your essays for a long time, Danny. This one felt a bit boring, even banal...until those last paragraphs. What a great setup! From banal to searingly pertinent, as I am heading into my own challenge this month. Thanks!!

most of them were written under the influence of tea, so that’s a perfect accompaniment

Oh ye of little faith!
It is true, birds ARE dinosaurs, not "the decendent of" but the true thing. Amazing, isn´t it?
I´ll buy your book in Spain, I need it!
