Dude. I used to be an expert (it's highly overrated) and you still are. I love the reference to fluid intelligence and I notice the lack of it every day, when I think of all the crazy sh*t I did in my 20s - how did I not kill myself? My guardian angel is still working overtime, God bless her. But now I sit here at the keyboard, alpine walking stick by my side, while I "take it easy" to let the bursitis in my hip heal. Such is life. My favorite response the the question, "How are you?" is "Awake and not crying." May you have many tomorrows to share (or not share) your hard-won wisdom. Don't ever change.
Hi Danny, wow I am always amazed at what you share and how you share it, you definately have gained from all your experiences, surely not wasted.
I had a bowling coach once who always encouraged me to make the mistake first and learn from it.
So isn't that true about living life too? We don't always do everything perfect, but in doing something wrong we gain inside for the next time.
For me this learning is understanding to improve the areas that are beneficial in doing better, because we can always choose to.
Being human is a learning process, to become wiser and not stay foolish about whatever you do, with relationships, careers, family living, etc..
Learning is growing and improving, and that's always a good process.
A fool is someone who refuses to see the truth and to give themselves the grace they need for being right with themselves. Honestly is as valuable, as kindness, to oneself, and to others.
Practicing what you've learned, is the best character builder and sustains us, which producers morecof the same.
I enjoyed the essay, thank you. My son and I watched your Youtube Video ‘I Drew Across America’ and we both enjoyed it very much! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your life so generously. With love to you and Jenny and the puggies 😊❤️🦋

Excellent. Thank you!
Danny: you have NAILED the observation about why so few men take up art (although those that do are usually very good at it).
I will watch your travel-across-the-US video later today.
