Just finished your "Just Make It" book. I think you were talking directly to me. I don't have a perfect record, but I am trying to sketch something every day. I kind of surprised myself! Thank you.
Great essay! I could never use "no time" as an excuse. I draw while we "watch" tv in the evenings. I have heard this excuse from friends, and I know they're never going to get to it. People do what they want to do. You've said that many times.
Wonderful essay! I feel a sense of satisfaction when I use those “in between” moments to create. Throw laundry in the machine, sketch, empty the dishwasher, first watercolor layer, flip the darn laundry just in time to put my second layer down, and so on. The mundane tasks are met with a reward upon completion!
We went out to breakfast today. Some thing we do about 4 times a year. And at then end, when my coffee was growing cold, I quickly drew my cup and the salt shaker. In 5 minutes. I could have let the moment pass. But now I have it forever. And that’s thanks to your inspiration. Thank you. 😊
You nailed it and brought back a quote memory from a book read years ago (Time and the Art of Living) "time is amorphous without brackets around it." Not exact but close enough. Thanks for the reminder. Enjoy your next 10 minutes.
Danny, I have a little trick I use…since I take millions of photos on my phone. I scroll thru and choose any two random images that have no connection. I draw the iguana on top of the five year olds head or the parrot on top of the silly little boys carrot top! It is fun and silly !
I really like this perspective
Love this so much!

Good points. Trouble is I have to get my materials together.
